4 Ways to Search By-Laws
What is a By-Law?
By-laws are enacted by the Corporation of the City of North Bay to establish a record of laws that have passed in front of City Council. The by-laws recognize everything from land or property construction to required legislation involving the ownership of pets.
By-Law Violations
Persons committing a violation to the regulation of a by-law are guilty of an offence. Set fines are normal procedures for most offences but for extreme cases or repeat offences a fine may be settled in a provincial court.
Every person who contravenes a provision to any by-law, is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine,to a maximum of $5,000 under the Provincial Offences Act.
Municipal Code
You may not need to sift through the by-laws to find what you are looking for. The Municipal Code is an organized listing of the most commonly requested City of North Bay by-laws.
