Locally, the film and television industry was coming off a record year when the pandemic hit in early 2020, with a total of 15 productions in 2019 resulting in just over $46 million in local spending on everything from wages, local products and services to construction, rentals, locations and accommodations. In North Bay alone, there were 377 filming days, involving 264 different locations, resulting in an estimated 16,000-plus branded hotel overnight stays in the city.
