  • Fire Department’s Halloween Night for Kids Cancelled
    North Bay, ON – Oct. 6, 2021 – Due to limits that remain in place for outdoor gatherings, North Bay Fire and Emergency Services has cancelled its annual Halloween Night for Kids again this year.

  • City Recognizes National Truth and Reconciliation Day
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 24, 2021 – The City of North Bay will observe the upcoming first annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Planned simulation of an incident involving hazardous goods on railway property
    North Bay, Sept. 24, 2021 – The City of North Bay wishes to inform the public that on Tuesday, Sept. 28, a simulation involving a hazardous material release from railway train cars will take place in the Ottawa Valley Railway yard located at 445 Oak Street, North Bay from 8 a.m to 3 p.m.
  • Grass sports fields closed
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 22, 2021 – Due to extremely wet conditions, ball diamonds, soccer fields and football fields have been closed today.  All games and practices are cancelled. Powerade Field and Minute Maid Fields at the Omischl Complex will remain open tonight.
  • Lakeshore Drive lane reductions
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 16, 2021 – Please be advised that there will be lane reductions on Lakeshore Drive on Friday, Sept. 17, between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. to allow for the completion of line painting and intersection markings. 
  • King’s Landing reopen to vehicular traffic
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 15, 2021 – The King’s Landing wharf is reopen to vehicular traffic following the completion of repairs to damage caused by ice earlier this year. Previous weight restrictions are place as posted. Additional work will take place this fall to improve the ice protection around the wharf.
  • Lane Closure: Algonquin Avenue
     North Bay, ON – Sept. 10, 2021 - A section of the northbound lane of Algonquin Avenue at McIntyre Street West will be closed today for the repair of a retaining wall within the traffic island in front of Greco’s Pizza. A detour will be set up at the intersection of Cassells Street and McIntyre Street West.
  • Road Closure: Widdifield Station Road
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 10, 2021 – A portion of Widdifield Station Road at the Mile 11 track crossing – the first crossing off Highway 63 – will be closed on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, from 7a.m. until 7 p.m. for Ontario Northland Railway track maintenance.  Signage will be posted at both Chadbourn Drive and Highway 63.
  • Waterfront Marina Boardwalk Redevelopment
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 9, 2021 – The City of North Bay Parks Department will be removing the wooden boardwalk along the Marina at the waterfront this week as part of a redevelopment project involving removal of damaged and rotting wooden boards, replacement of the pathway light electrical line and rehabilitation of the beds between the boardwalk and the lake.
  • Wallace Road – One lane open
    North Bay, ON – Sept. 8, 2021 – Wallace Road will be open to one lane of traffic between Lake Heights Road and Commerce Court starting this morning.
  • Virtual Town Hall Meeting
    North Bay, ON –Sept. 8, 2021 – North Bay City Council will host a virtual town hall meeting on Monday, Sept. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Transit Expands Hours of Service and Introduces New Route
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 30, 2021 – With more people within the community returning to work and school this fall, North Bay Transit is supporting passengers by expanding operating hours and introducing a new route to service the McKeown Avenue corridor.
  • Paving improvements: Marshall Avenue Intersection
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 25, 2021 – Lakeshore Drive at Marshall Avenue will be reduced to two lanes and a section of Marshall Avenue will be closed on Thursday to allow for asphalt restoration improvements to take place.
  • Paving improvements: Lakeshore Drive
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 24, 2021 – Lakeshore Drive will be reduced to two lanes between Fodor and Charles streets on Wednesday while asphalt restoration improvements are underway.
  • Bike Lanes added to Main Street West
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 19, 2021 – Painting of new bike lanes along Main Street West will begin this week as part of the finishing touches of the West Link multi-use pathway.
  • EMERGENCY LANE REDUCTION 49 LAKESHORE DRIVE
    Please be advised that emergency work to repair a collapsed sanitary main at 49 Lakeshore Drive is currently underway.
  • Condo Trail Maintenance
    North Bay, ON – Aug. 9, 2021 – The Waterfront Trail (Condo Trail) between Marathon Beach and Timmins Street will be closed Tuesday, Aug.10 from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. for tree maintenance. This will include removal of diseased and damage branches, pruning to improve the structure of the tree and removal of dead trees that pose a safety risk to trail users.
  • Road Closure: Wallace Road
    North Bay, ON – August 5, 2021 – Wallace Road will be closed between Lake Heights Road and Commerce Court for up to five weeks starting Monday, Aug. 9 to allow for the installation of a deep sanitary sewer.
