  • Making Over Main Street Waste Pickup Reminder
    North Bay, ON – April, 22, 2023 – The City of North Bay is reminding residents and businesses within the Making Over Main Street construction zone that waste pickup in the DIA occurs on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Main Street Reconstruction – Ferguson Sanitary Sewer
    North Bay, ON – April 12, 2024 – Starting early Monday morning on April 15, MCA Contracting will begin replacing a 375mm diameter sanitary sewer on Ferguson Street, spanning from Oak Street to Main Street, as part of the Making Over Main Street project.
  • Main Street Project Resumes
    The Making Over Main Street project is scheduled to resume April 8.

    North Bay, ON – Oct. 23, 2023 – The first phase of the Making Over Main Street project is nearing completion with construction activity for this year set to wrap up soon.

    North Bay, ON – Sept. 29, 2023 - Starting on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, as part of North Bay's Making Over Main Street project, pedestrian detour fencing in place between Wyld and Ferguson streets will be relocated as Block 4 enters its second phase of construction.

    North Bay, ON – Aug. 23, 2023 – The City of North Bay would like to inform the public that a large stretch of Main Street will be closed during the upcoming weekend while the Bay Block Party is underway and Making Over Main Street project continues.

  • Main Street Reconstruction - Pedestrian Detours
    Starting this afternoon the fencing for the stage 2 pedestrian detours will be relocated to the recently paved asphalt road. Starting tomorrow pedestrians will use the stage 2 fencing location while the contractor completes the concrete sidewalk adjacent to the buildings.

    North Bay, ON – July 4, 2023 – With an Environment Canada heat warning for the North Bay area continuing through Wednesday, residents who need an indoor place to stay cool can access city facilities including Memorial Gardens (sections 1,2,5 and 7) from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Pete Palangio Arena until from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Transit Terminal on Oak Street from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. 
  • Main Street Reconstruction: Traffic Notice
    North Bay, ON – June 29, 2023 – Starting early next week, the traffic lights at Main and Wyld streets will be deactivated and the intersection will temporarily become an all-way stop.
  • Main Street Reconstruction – Temporary Road Closure
    North Bay, ON – June 20, 2023 – Sherbrooke Street, between Oak and Main streets, will be temporarily closed today starting at 9 am due to installation of communication ducts across road. The road will reopen before 3:30pm. During this period, Fisher Street can be used to access Main Street. All other detours remain in-place.

    North Bay, ON – May 12, 2023 – The City of North Bay today launched the first major renovation of its Main Street in nearly 40 years, a project that will create an even brighter and more inviting Downtown with new sidewalks, roadway, stairs, railings, lighting and more.
