City Opens Rotary Splash Pad

North Bay, ON – June 17, 2020 – The Family of Rotary’s Splash Pad will open for the season beginning today at noon.

The opening of the splash pad, located behind the North Bay Museum at 100 Ferguson Street, follows the Ontario Government’s recent Stage 2 reopening announcement, lifting additional restrictions for much of the province including North Bay.

The splash pad will operate daily between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. weather permitting. Residents are reminded that the splash pad is unsupervised and is not sanitized. Parents/guardians must supervise their children at all times and users are reminded to wash or sanitize their hands after use.

Health measures remain in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 and users should remember to stay two metres away from others using the splash pad and to follow all guidelines related to social gatherings.

Public Washrooms

Washrooms at the splash pad facility will be available. The City is also working to reopen park washrooms at a number of locations with increased cleaning, including Marathon Beach and Lee Park. Washrooms at the Waterfront Marina were previously opened. A further update will be provided when these facilities are ready to open.

Residents using park washrooms should maintain a distance of two metres or six feet from others at all times while waiting in line, and should wash hands or use hand sanitizer.
