North Bay, ON – Nov. 4, 2021 – The North Bay Municipal Heritage Committee has extended the deadline for submissions to its annual Youth Engagement Photography Contest to Dec. 11, 2021.
The contest is open to youth aged 18 and under and is aimed at encouraging young people to illustrate through photos aspects of North Bay’s culture and heritage that they consider significant and meaningful. Entrants are asked to include with their submissions a short paragraph explaining the significance of their photo. DIA gift cards will be awarded as prizes for the top three submissions.
There are no fixed categories for the competition. However, entrants are asked to consider how the photograph relates to one of three broadly defined areas: Built, Natural, or Human Heritage of North Bay. Participants may choose to focus on a range of heritage features within these broadly defined categories.
