Event Hosting Program accepting applications until Feb. 26

North Bay, ON – Feb. 11, 2021 – There’s still time for local organizations to submit applications to the City of North Bay’s Event Hosting Program.

Though there is uncertainty as to what pandemic-related restrictions may be in place in the coming months, the City is continuing to encourage local organizations that may still be planning to host not-for-profit conferences, meetings, sports tournaments or other special events this year to apply for funding under the program prior to the Feb. 26 deadline.

The program supports community groups by providing funding to help offset event-hosting costs for events that result in a significant community impact and present the opportunity to showcase and promote North Bay.

Applications will be evaluated and scored by a Review Committee, consisting of representatives of North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce and the City’s Economic Development and Community Development and Growth departments. A scoring system will be used to determine the impact of the event on the community and help guide the Committee in determining the funding status of each application.

It is important to note that applications received after the Feb. 26 deadline will only be considered if there are remaining program funds.

All interested groups are encouraged to apply. Please note that the application deadline for 2022 events will be Oct. 15 and that a call for applications for events to be held next year will be issued in the fall.
