Nominations for Municipal Election open Monday

North Bay, ON – April 29, 2022 – The nomination period for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections opens Monday.

Nominations for the Offices of Mayor, Council and School Board Trustees may be made by completing and filing in the office of the City Clerk, using the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed filing fee of $200 for the Head of Council and $100 for all other offices. The filing fee is only payable by debit, cash, certified cheque or money order made payable to the City of North Bay.

The candidate’s nomination paper (excluding school board trustee candidates) must be accompanied by an endorsement of nomination signed by 25 eligible voters supporting the nomination. The individuals providing signatures must sign a declaration stating they are eligible to vote in the municipality on the day they signed the endorsement.  

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by any agent during regular business hours between May 2, 2022 and August 18, 2022 and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 (Nomination Day).  An appointment will be necessary to file your nomination form.  Please call 705-474-0626 ext. 2507 to make an appointment.

Oct. 24, 2022 is voting day.  To make sure you are on the voters list and your information is accurate visit voterlookup.ca to register, confirm details and update any information that may not be current.
