North Bay, ON – May 5, 2022 – Construction of sidewalks on Lakeside Drive, between Trout Lake Road and Birchaven Cove Park, is set to resume May 9, 2022.
The work, which includes curb and gutter and road restoration, is tentatively scheduled for completion by the end of August, 2022. Construction is expected to start at the Birchaven Cove Park end of Lakeside Drive and to continue towards Trout Lake Road until completion.
During this period, one lane of traffic will be provided for access to local properties and to provide safe travel through the construction zone. Short detours may be required to complete underground infrastructure at various locations on Lakeside Drive. This may result in short traffic delays and travellers are advised to add extra time to their schedule or temporarily take an alternate route.
Additionally, access to the Olmsted Beach parking lot may be restricted during some operations as it will be rehabilitated as part of the project. This includes raising the parking lot grade and installing culverts under the entrances. A portion of the parking lot will be available for use throughout construction, except for times when access is restricted.
