Waterfront Walkway Surface Replacement

North Bay, ON – May 16, 2021 – Installation of a new surface for the walkway along the Marina at the City’s waterfront starts this week.

The wooden boardwalk, which was in need of replacement due to rotting and failing boards, was removed last fall and left as aggregate through the winter months.

After consultation with the City’s Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee, the boardwalk is being replaced with a hard paver surface that will make the walkway more accessible for those using wheelchairs and without full mobility.

The work will be conducted in phases over the next four to six weeks beginning at the at the boat launch end of the walkway. Access to the Marina will be maintained throughout the project. Set up for the project site is taking place today, with construction set to proceed starting Tuesday.
