Citizen Appointments to Boards, Committees and Commissions

THE CITY OF NORTH BAY

CITIZEN APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS, COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS
(2022-2026)

The Council of The Corporation of the City of North Bay invites applications from members of the general public (aged eighteen and above, and resident within the City of North Bay) who wish to be considered for appointment to the following boards, committees and commissions. We encourage qualified and interested individuals to volunteer their services and to provide input on various issues that affect the City of North Bay. The term of office in most cases is four years, running concurrently with the term of Council. All Applicants must provide proof of vaccination prior to appointment.  

Note: Appointments are on a volunteer basis only and no compensation will be paid and proof of COVID vaccination will be required as set out in City of North Bay COVID Policy.   

Cassellholme – East Nipissing Home For The Aged

Mandate: To provide long term care in a residential setting, community support services and seniors’ housing.

Committee of Adjustment

Mandate: Land severance and Zoning By-law minor variance approvals.

Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee

Mandate: To advise Council respecting the preparation, implementation and effectiveness of the Municipal Accessibility Plan created under the provisions of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA), and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005.

Municipal Heritage Committee

Mandate: To advise and assist Council on all matters relating to Parts IV and V of the Ontario Heritage Act (OHA), 2009 including the recognition and preservation of buildings and sites of architectural and historical significance in the City of North Bay.

North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority

Mandate: To provide conservation and watershed management best practices in the Mattawa River and Lake Nipissing watersheds.

North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit

Mandate: To oversee, provide or ensure the provision of public health programs and services as directed by the Ontario Public Health Standards (2008) under the Health Protection and Promotion Act (1990).

Public Art Advisory Committee

Mandate:  To promote expert community input on City of North Bay public art policies, projects and procedures.

Waste Resources Liaison Committee

Mandate: To monitor, review and make recommendations concerning the operations of the Merrick Landfill Site, and the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste.
