The goal of a Source Protection Plan (SP Plan) is to manage or eliminate existing and future activities that could be significant drinking water threats.
One of the methods to implement the SP Plan is to use Land Use Planning tools to direct new development that could pose a threat to drinking water away from vulnerable areas to more appropriate locations.
The City of North Bay has updated our Official Plan to reflect the Source Water Protection Plan.
A copy of the technical studies and the approved SP Plan is available on the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority website at www.actforcleanwater.ca.
Conservation Ontario has developed an Implementation Resource Guide available on their website which provides a general overview of the implementation requirements.
