Applicable By-laws

Below are City By-laws that may relate to Short-Term Rentals

The purpose of the Short-Term Rental By-law is to protect long-term housing availability, the health and safety of the persons residing in rental premises and to ensure that the rental premises does not create a nuisance to the surrounding properties and neighbourhood.

The City is divided into "zones", where different land uses are permitted or prohibited- these zones are set out in the zoning by-law. There are zones, for example, which permit 'Principal Dwelling Unit Short-Term Rentals' but not 'Non-Principal Dwelling Unit Short-Term Rentals'.

The Off-Road Vehicles By-law applies to and regulates the operation and requirements of off-road vehicles on roads, streets and highways.
