Administrative Assistant, Economic Development (Temporary)

Applications are invited for the temporary position of Administrative Assistant within the City of North Bay’s Economic Development Department. Reporting to the Manager of Economic Development, the Administrative Assistant, Economic Development prioritizes, performs, and oversees a number of administrative tasks to achieve required outcomes. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Economic Development team and assists with other initiatives ongoing within the department.

Qualifications:   

  • 2 Year Post Secondary Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to five years progressive relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to a fast-paced changing environment
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated exceptional planning, organizing and time management
  • Strong customer service experience and effective communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while supporting a team
  • Demonstrated judgement and problem solving
  • Exceptional research, analytical and writing skills
  • Proficient with technology and programs such as:
    • Microsoft Office
    • Records and Customer Relations Management
    • Relevant financial/information systems
    • Website content management software
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while supporting a team
  • Bi/multilingual considered an asset

Hours of Work:      Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)

Environment:         Unionized

Current Hourly Rate:        $30.55 per hour
