151 Main St. East - Downtown Target Area

Complete redevelopment of vacant commercial unit on ground floor and residential unit on second floor. 

  • New upper floor residential unit with 5 bedrooms & 5 bathrooms
  • Ground floor renovations for future commercial use
  • Full façade redevelopment with accent lighting

  • Supports infill development 
  • Improved the physical condition of the building
  • Contributed to an increase of the housing stock in the Downtown Core 
  • Will provide jobs with future commercial use
  • Re-developed a property that was vacant for a number of years 
  • Enhanced the attractiveness and helps to develop the vision of the Downtown Core
  • Encouraged development which complements the built form and commercial mix in the Downtown Core
  • Supported significant private sector investment

130-134 Main Street West - Downtown Target Area

Complete renovation of a vacant commercial unit on ground floor and 5 apartment units on second floor.

  • 5 new residential units on the second floor
  • Ground floor commercial renovation (new location for Good Glaze desert bar)
  • Future façade work anticipated, including improved exterior lighting

  • Supported infill development
  • Improved the physical condition of the building
  • Increased the overall housing stock in the Downtown Core
  • Increased the number of jobs
  • Re-developed a previously vacant space
  • Will help to enhance the attractiveness and further develop the vision of the Downtown Core with anticipated façade work
  • Re development will complement the built form and commercial mix in the Downtown Core
  • Supported significant private sector investment

156-158 Main Street West -Downtown Target Area

Complete renovation, inside and out of vacant building.

  • Creation of a new commercial space in a previously underutilized space (Culture Club micro bakery located in the back alleyway leading to the municipal parking garage on McIntyre St.)
  • Beautification of public laneway with 2 public art pieces
  • 1 new commercial unit fronting on Main Street (Main Supply Refillery & Goods)  
  • 1 new residential unit on second floor (currently in progress)
  • Complete façade reconstruction anticipated in the future 

  • Supports infill development 
  • Improves the physical condition of the building
  • Will increase the overall housing stock in the Downtown Core 
  • Increases the number of jobs
  • Re-develops previously vacant spaces
  • Enhances the attractiveness and further develops the vision for the Downtown Core
  • Re development will complement the built form and commercial mix in the Downtown Core
  • Supports significant private sector investment

981 Cassells Street -Housing Target Area

New build for 30 transitional housing units. 

  • Will provide critical supportive housing for North Bay's homeless population
  • Transitional housing has been identified as a critical missing component to the City's housing continuum in the Community Safety and Well Being Plan (CSWBP)

  • Will stimulate private sector investment and development in the housing market
  • Will encourage development of affordable rental opportunities
  • Will promote intensification within the Residential Intensification Area
  • Will provide for a much needed increase in North Bay's overall housing stock

497 and 483 Chippewa Street West

Creation of two new residential builds for a total of 8 new residential units.  

  • Helps to intensify the City's 'Residential Intensification Area'
  • Increases the City's overall housing stock by 8 new dwelling units
  • Redevelops two previously underutilized residential properties 

  • Stimulates private sector investment and development in the housing market
  • Encourages the development of affordable rental opportunities
  • Promotes intensification within the 'Residential Intensification Area'
  • Provides for a much needed increase in North Bay's housing stock

155 Fourth Avenue East -Housing Target Area

Legalizing a triplex by renovating 1 dwelling unit.

  • Helps to intensify the City's 'Residential Intensification Area'
  • Increases the City's overall housing stock
  • Redevelops an existing residential building

  • Stimulates private sector investment and development in the housing market
  • Encourages the development of affordable rental opportunities
  • Promotes intensification within the 'Residential Intensification Area'
  • Provides for a much needed increase in North Bay's housing stock

4400 Highway 11 North - Industrial Target Area

The construction of a second shop building for repair and maintenance of mobile mining equipment for Redpath Canada Ltd. 

  • Will create approximately 7 full-time jobs and 2 seasonal jobs
  • Expansion of an existing & established business 

  • Helps to improve the market attractiveness and competitiveness of industrial land in the City
  • Enhance the City's image as an industrial hub in the north
  • Promotes economic rehabilitation and revitalization
  • Increases investment and employment in industrial land 
  • Increases long-term tax assessment base 

45 Station Road - Industrial Target Area

New industrial development for a transport tuck terminal. Stay tuned for project photos. 

  • Will provide approximately 10 full-time jobs
  • Utilizes a formerly vacant piece of industrial land

  • Helps to improve the market attractiveness and competitiveness of industrial land in the City
  • Enhance the City's image as an industrial hub in the north
  • Promote economic rehabilitation and revitalization
  • Increase investment and employment in industrial land 
  • Increase long-term tax assessment base
