Agency, Board & Committee Appointments

Councillor Lowery current sits as a Council appointed member on the following Agencies, Boards and Committees:

  • General Government Committee
  • Infrastructure and Operations Committee
  • Community Services Committee

Jamie spent eight years as the Chief Executive Officer of the district long-term care home. Now that the redevelopment plan is underway, he has retired to take on the challenge of a City Council seat.

Jamie has built a wealth of experience in both the public and private sector over his career. Before moving to North Bay in 2015, he was the Commissioner of Community Services for the City of Brampton. In that role, he oversaw a staff of 3,200 municipal employees and managed an annual operating budget of $150 million. During his tenure, he was responsible for the completion of half a billion in community projects – everything from firehalls to civic theatres to sports infrastructure and parks and green spaces.

Earlier in his career, he previously held positions with the City of Pickering, the City of Markham and was a senior Project Manager and Associate Partner, with a global engineering firm.

Jamie holds an undergraduate degree in English and biology (University of Guelph), a diploma in landscape architecture (Ryerson University) and a post-graduate certificate in executive coaching (Royal Road University).

He’s volunteered with various charities and organizations, including serving as co chair of Nipissing’s Ontario Health Team, is an active coach and board member for the North Bay and District Girls Hockey Association (Ice Boltz) as well as driving innovative seniors services for Castle Arms.

He is a husband, father of five children and became a Poppa to two grandchildren in the last year.

Jamie is most proud of his reputation for driving solutions through community involvement and will to continue his advocacy during the next council term.
