Spotlight Waste Diversion Artists

We’ll be featuring artwork weekly over the next couple of months as part of our Waste Diversion Outreach Program. The program provides elementary school students an opportunity to learn about the City's waste diversion initiatives in a creative and interactive way by utilizing the 6R's (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, and Recycle).

Juliana from St Hubert’s Catholic School

Juliana wants everyone to Keep Calm and Remember the 6 R’s of Waste Diversion.

Neveah from Woodland Public School

Neveah wants to remind everyone that donating our clothing, reducing plastic, picking up litter, and following the 6 R’s of waste diversion, are all ways we can be kind to our Earth.

Diamond from St. Luke’s Catholic School

Diamond wants to remind everyone to use a reusable water bottle, recycle your paper, reduce the amount of litter, and repair items that are broken instead of buying new ones. We can all work together with the 6 R’s of Waste Diversion.

Ricardo from St. Alexander Catholic Elementary School

Ricardo is reminding everyone that paper, clothing, and leaves don’t belong in the garbage. We can recycle our paper, donate used clothing, and compost leaf and yard waste.

Donofrio and Ben from St. Hubert’s Catholic School

Donofrio and Ben are reminding everyone to use the 6 R’s of Waste Diversion.  When we Repair items that are broken, Reuse items, Refuse items we don’t need, Reduce our waste, Rethink other ways to use something, and Recycle, we will limit the amount of waste we send to the landfill.
